Windows 7 Enterprise Fingerprint Tool error at login: "A match for the fingerprint was not found in the fingerprint store"
We at PGS are currently running a Windows 7 pilot to test/confirm windows 7 functionality before we start our production rollout of Windows 7. This issues will seriously bring that to a halt or force us to use the working Lenovo Fingerprint software. I would like to avoid the Lenovo software even though it works without this error on a test laptop and use the native Windows 7 biometric tools. We have a issue on all our Lenovo laptops that prevents us from simple using the fingerprint login despite registration. This only seems to occur when we are not connected to the domain. This occurs on all laptops tested so far and this error is repeatable.Error at login screen: Windows Security: A match for the fingerprint was not found in the fingerprint storeThe Biometrics settings is enabled, TPM and drivers installed and setting set to "allow users to login to Windows using their fingerprints" and "allow users to login to a domain using their fingerprints".I am level 2 support and am the technical lead for this project.Has this been reported to Microsoft as a issue yet? I cannot find any google articles and this error.PGS AmericasNathan Bridges

If your not connected to a domain try unchecking allow "allow users to login to a domain using their fingerprints" to localize the fingerprint store.

We are connected to a domain and that is required. You can only uncheck this option after login and going into the Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Biometric Devices. The PC is domain attached but this error occurs offline and when disconnected from the domain. We want to use the Microsoft fingerprint tool, but hopefully a fix for this error/bug will occur. :-)The Lenovo Fingerprint tool for Windows 7 works without the above issues native to the Windows fingerprint built-in tool.Nathan

The Windows 7 enrollment tool built into Windows 7 Enterprise works and we have enrolled our fingerprints. The error still occurs despite proper enrollment.See pic here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/44745663@N06/?saved=1Why does this linked document say the following on page 10:"Windows 7 will not include an inbox FMA or enrollment experience. Only the IHV, ISV, or OEM can provide an enrollment experience with a FMA that uses the WBF API."Is it not supported anymore by Microsoft?Nathan

Just to clarify. This error still occurs. Error at login screen: Windows Security: A match for the fingerprint was not found in the fingerprint storePlease confirm if you are saying that the Microsoft FingerPrint Enrollment Tool is still supported by Microsoft. As i said we can enroll fingerprints but cannot login to our domain joined PCs using domain cached creds when offline or out of office at home/hotel. Manually entering the domain cached password works but not the stored fingerprints.See pic here of Windows 7 fingerPrint Enrollment Tool:http://www.flickr.com/photos/44745663@N06/?saved=1Nathan Bridges

check this out and see if it works for you. I have a Toshiba Satellite with the same software as you I believe. It is actually 2 softwares installed for the biometric scanner but only 1 has access and if you have saved prints that don't work you just need to remove them this way and then use the AuthenTec utility to take your prints. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ED5PYS1_is
